THE JORGE MAS CANOSA FREEDOM FOUNDATION

The advancement of democratic ideals requires strong institutions fully devoted to the protection and preservation of fundamental liberties.

This was the life belief of Jorge Mas Canosa. Jorge’s commitment to the struggle on behalf of the rights of man extended beyond his physical existence. Following his wishes, his family and the Cuban-American National Foundation established the Jorge Mas Canosa Freedom Foundation.

The Foundation devotes its efforts to advance and preserve Jorge’s legacy of love of God, family and homeland, the dignity of human life, the ideals of freedom and democracy and the education of future generations in the appreciation of these ideals.

MAS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIPS

Through the efforts of The Jorge Mas Canosa Freedom Foundation, the Mas Family Scholarships program was established in 1997. The program’s goal is to further the education of talented young men and women with leadership potential. With the help of the Mas Family Scholarships program, these future leaders will advance the ideals of a democratic, free enterprise society. The Jorge Mas Canosa Freedom Foundation manages these funds for the scholarship program. The success of the program is an eloquent example of what citizens are able to achieve in a free society.

Since it’s creation in 1997, the Mas Family Scholarships program has grown immensely and is currently the largest scholarship program for Cuban-American students in the country. It has provided over one million dollars in scholarships to needy students. With the support of individuals and events like The Jorge Mas Canosa Golf Tournament, we will ensure a bright and successful future for these young leaders. One hundred percent of the funds raised in this year’s golf tournament will go directly into the Mas Family Scholarships program.
